Program Description

Juanita Hardy, an expert in creative placemaking, discussed what creative placemaking is and give examples of projects where this process has been used to create a distinctive sense of place in real estate development. Real estate development can be optimized by actively and early engaging artists and the community in the design of a real estate project. The range of real estate can be adaptive reuse, vacant spaces, new development and more.

Creative placemaking, or leveraging art and culture in tandem with great design, is a proven accelerator for real estate development projects. . Creative placemaking can have a meaningful positive impact in low-income neighborhoods, along distressed commercial corridors, in struggling rural areas, and in other disinvested communities.
