The LAIGW meeting on September 24th was  held via Zoom.  A poll of the members showed that there are many people who are still not comfortable attending in person gatherings given the rise of the Delta variant.

Since the release of the COVID vaccines, the real estate markets have recovered in some cases to pre-pandemic levels; however, there are still overarching challenges and an acceleration of trends that began before the pandemic.  The Work from Home mandate was lifted, yet the pattern has been set and many workers have permanently adjusted their dedication to the daily office commute even if available.  These patterns will have implications on both the office and residential markets rippling into retail and industrial markets with different impacts.  The panel discussed trends based on evidence from Delta’s research in both the residential and office markets and from Jarvis Commercial’s on the street views from tenants and landlords in the office market, balancing data with on the ground activity.
