About the Session

Congressionally chartered in 1867, Howard University is a culturally diverse, comprehensive, research intensive and historically Black private university located in the nation’s capital.  The session will provide an overview of the plan to achieve the “Howard Forward” Vision of excellence in academics, research, innovation, operations, and a more sustainable future for Howard. In today’s fiscally challenging environment, it is incumbent on institutions to build upon their strengths and chart a realistic, actionable course to achieve a more sustainable future. Attendees will witness how Howard’s mission-driven real estate strategy has resulted in focused campus master planning activities positioned to positively impact the institution’s short and long-term options for maintaining academic and economic resilience.
