Program: Kaiser Permanente is a leading health care provider in the Washington, DC region. They operate 34 medical centers and have another eight on the way, with 8,200 local staffers and $4.5 billion in local revenue. The group is pursuing an aggressive expansion plan that aims to provide current and future members with conveniently located high-quality care.  They are building new medical centers throughout the region and own the majority of new facilities they are opening.

Kaiser is very active in community building activities beyond their own facilities.  In 2021, Kaiser Permanente made a $5 million investment in a loan fund that supports the preservation and production of affordable housing along the Purple Line corridor in Prince George’s County and Montgomery County.  Kaiser Permanente continues to recruit additional investors to grow the fund, which has now reached $10 million with this investment.

Come learn about the work that Kaiser is doing and the impact it is having on the Washington, DC area.

Speaker Bio:  George Leventhal, former Montgomery County Councilmember and Kaiser Permanente Director of Community Health will discuss Kaiser’s role in supporting long term affordable housing in the region and other Kaiser real estate and development projects.

The in-person location for the luncheon is
